Biography

Shelby Jean Wall King, age 69, of Ivanhoe, VA passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on November 1, 1942 in Wythe County and was preceded in death by her mother, Helen S. Wall; 2 brothers, Charles “TaTa” Wall and Donald W. Wall; and a great nephew, Kevin Zettelmeier. Jean was a member of the Ivanhoe Senior Citizens. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Clinton King of the home; son, James “Happy”, Jr. and Kalli King of Draper, VA; 3 grandchildren, Jason Stump, Katrina King and Kallista King; a brother, Nickie L. and Renate Wall of GA; nephews, Dirk and Leah Zettelmeier, Donald W. and Judy Wall. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Hal Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 West Ridge Road, Wytheville, VA 24382, the American Cancer Society or the charity of choice. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is in charge of arrangements.
