Alice Jane McHone Parks, age 78, of Max Meadows, VA went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home. She was born June 6, 1939 in Wythe County, daughter of the late J. Coy McHone and Nina Richardson McHone. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Joe Parks; two daughters, Peggy Tompkins and Brenda Frazier; grandson, John Stuart "Bo" Repass.  She attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Alice was an avid reader, loved arts and crafts and family history research. She and her husband Joe worked with church youth and went on many mission trips with the youth.  Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Joe Parks, Jr. and Alicia, Ronald Parks; daughter, Kecia Parks Wimmer; grandchildren, Josh Parks and Christina, Shane Parks and Kaitlyn, Taylor Parks, Shane Steele, Melissa Long, Bryant Jefferson, Brice Wimmer, Blake Wimmer, Loren Frazier and Amber, Alice Renee Frazier; great grandchildren, Landon, Lilly and Micah Parks, Lucas Parks, Isabella Steele, Karissa Wohlford, Landon and Lincoln Frazier, Heather Woolard; brothers, Franklin McHone and Margaret, Billy McHone and Linda; sisters, Ellen Branscome and Don, Linda Spiker, Marie Archer; brother-in-law, Warren Thompson; sisters-in-law, Linda Parks and Hilda Parks; son-in-law, Carl Tompkins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Carrico and Reverend Richard Collins officiating.

Interment will follow in West End Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday one hour before service time at the funeral home.
