Alice Tickle, age 100, of Max Meadows, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025. Born May 13, 1924 in Wythe County VA, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Gertrude Dean Semones.

She enjoyed sitting on the front porch and loved taking care of others - especially through her cooking. She was known for making huge meals for family and friends. She always made sure everyone was fed and felt at home. Her Chicken and Dumplings were the best around and a favorite to many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Tickle Jr. and one son Lawrence Tickle III.

Survivors include her grandsons, Lawrence Tickle IV and Kevin Tickle; one brother, Dickie Semones; great grandchildren, Lawrence Tickle V, Brittney Leigh Tickle and Deserah Tickle, as well as Lakin and Tori Connatser. She was also survived by her devoted caregiver, Lisa Carrington and many other beloved family members and friends.

A memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Gunton Park Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Diane Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until service time.  Barnett Funeral Home is serving the Tickle family.
