Amy Stevenson Fry, 47, of Wytheville, Virginia , died on February 9, 2017, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Amy was truly a special woman.  She was generous to a fault, funny with a dry, sarcastic wit, and full of love for everyone she met. She touched hundreds of children's lives as a teacher at The Children's Garden.  All the kids and their parents adored "Miss Amy" because of her enthusiasm and love for them.  Amy and Eddie shared many wonderful years together farming, gardening, watching their boys' sporting events, and enjoying the simple life. She was a devoted daughter and a protective, giving sister. Amy accomplished much in her life, but she always considered the vocation of being a mom to Shane and Gage her most important job. She loved those two beyond measure.

A funeral mass will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wytheville, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral mass, from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Amy is survived by her husband, Eddie Fry, sons Shane Smith and Gage Smith, stepchildren Ellie Fry and Tanner Fry, mother Deloris Stevenson, sisters, Julie Garrenton (Mark), Gwen Stevenson (Jim), Christi Downs (Ben), brother Richard Stevenson (Brenda), and several nieces and nephews

Amy was preceded in death by her father, H. Joseph Stevenson and her brother Joseph Ray Stevenson .
