Archie Gleason Roberts, age 80, of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his home.  He was born in Grayson Co., VA on February 8, 1937 the son of the late Archie Maiden Roberts and Cleo Anderson Roberts.  Archie was a member of All Nations Church of God and a veteran of the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Roberts; daughters, Danita Bryant and husband Craig of Winter Springs, FL, Lisa Hackler and husband Trevor of Wytheville, VA; grandchildren, Derrick Lee Bryant, Cody Dylan Hackler, Kassie Dawn Hackler; sisters, Carolyn Waugh of Asheboro, NC, Joann Walker of Gloucester, VA; sister-in-law, Phyllis Harden and husband Richard; brother-in-law, Charles Slagle all of Rural Retreat; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chad Dunford officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens with Military Rites being conducted by American Legion Post # 229 of Rural Retreat.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time.  The family requests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Rural Retreat Volunteer Emergency Service.
