Arthur Jackson “Jack” Lawrence, Jr., age 91, of Barren Springs, VA passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026. He was born January 8, 1935 in Mt. Airy, NC, the son of the late Arthur Jackson Lawrence, Sr. and Mildred Hall Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ruth (Bob) Rider, and three brothers, James “Cotton” Lawrence, Clay Lawrence, and Tom (Mary) Lawrence. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army.

 Survivors include two nephews, Neil Rider of Salem, VA and Sammy Lawrence of Barren Springs; longtime friend, Carl Rankin. A host of extended family members and many friends also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2026 at Draper Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Draper, VA. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the Lawrence family.
