Asterine Agnes Brown Rogers, age 84, of Sparta, NC, passed away Monday, December 23, 2024. She was born May 19, 1940 in Wythe County, daughter of the late James Brown, Sr. and Maggie Hale Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Rogers; sisters, Isabell Brown, Ida Cook and Stella Hale; brothers, James Brown, Jr., Dave Brown, Walter Brown, Robert Brown and Sam Brown.

Survivors include several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Barnett Funeral Home with Pastor Shelly Kyle officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time.  Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
