Audrey Cox Hedrick, age 75, of Rural Retreat, VA passed away August 26, 2024. She was born in Ceres, VA on March 15, 1949 to the late Winton B. Cox and Maude Caroline Bridges Cox. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Gilmer Cox, Wiley Cox, sisters Oma Lambert and Brenda Crabtree.

She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Morning Glories, and Parish Circle. She was an active member of the Rural Retreat Depot Foundation, Relay for Life, Rural Retreat Fair Association, Red Hats Club and the Rural Retreat Lions Club.

Audrey is survived by her husband of 55 years Roger Hedrick; two daughters Sherri Caldwell (Derrick) of Grandy, NC, Stacy Cornett (Jason) of Salem, VA; Grandchildren Sidney (Tyler), Haley (McKenzie), Layken (Brian) and Ashton; great granddaughter Riley; brothers Melvin Cox of Bland, VA, Larry Cox (Ethel) of Bland, VA, Benny Cox of Ceres, VA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home with Brother Jason Darty officiating. Entombment will follow service at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until service time.
