Barbara Arnold, age 82, of Wytheville VA, passed away Sunday January 29, 2023. Born May 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Stewart Roosevelt Akers and Ruth "Burnett" Akers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Filemon Russell Arnold; sisters, Ina Felts and Myrtle Akers; brothers, J.C. Akers, Sonny Akers, Elwood Akers and Willard Akers.

Her passions and hobbies included photography, gardening and caring for animals. Barbara was also a devout Christian who enjoyed attending church and spending time with loved ones.

Survivors include her grandchildren, Shammra Estep and husband Larry Estep, Jr. of Stafford VA, Tracy Rasnake of Wytheville VA and Leon Rasnake of Piney Flats TN; great-grandchild, Isaiah Gregory of Wytheville VA; a brother, Larry Akers and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 3, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Reese Funeral home and the funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chase Sink officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery in Piney VA.  Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
