Beatrice Mamie Boysaw Jackson departed this life after a brief illness on July 7, 2017 at 9:20 a.m. at her residence in Midlothian, Virginia. The second of seven children, she was born on September 1, 1930, to Mr. George Walter Boysaw and Mrs. Maude Montgomery Boysaw, in Speedwell, Virginia. Her husband, Harry Jackson, parents and two brothers, Glair Edward Boysaw and James Adam Boysaw preceded her in death. At an early age, Bea dedicated her life to Christ and joined the High Point Apostolic Church where she faithfully attended with her family. After relocating to Midlothian, Virginia, she became a member of Star Fellowship Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. She received her formal education from the Wythe County Public Schools in New Hope, Virginia.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, Dr. Rebecca Jackson Doherty and her husband, Mr. Oludele Doherty, Sr., North Chesterfield, Virginia; sons, Mr. Carl W. Jackson, Sr., and his wife, Mrs. Roxie Hughes Jackson, Tyrone, Georgia, and Mr. Earl L. Jackson, Sr., and his wife, Mrs. Yolanda Thomas Jackson of North Chesterfield, Virginia; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Emanda Boysaw Peoples, Statesville, North Carolina, and Mrs. Helena Boysaw Harrison, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Bishop George Boysaw, Columbus, Ohio, and Mr. Joseph Boysaw, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and treasured friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church with Bishop Terry Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 14 at the Barnett Funeral Home.
