Benny Leroy Copenhaver, age 74, of Wytheville, VA passed away Monday, July 21, 2025. He was born January 21, 1951 in Wythe County, the son of the late Arnold and Luella Stuart Copenhaver. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Payne Copenhaver; two brothers, Dewayne Copenhaver and Larry Copenhaver. Benny was a retired employee of VDOT.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl Copenhaver Anderson and husband, Timothy; two grandsons, Dylan Anderson and fiancée Caroline Widener, Nickolas Anderson; two brothers, Hubert Copenhaver and Danny Copenhaver.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2025 at Charity Cemetery in Barren Springs, VA with Mr. Tony Copenhaver officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Rural Retreat Volunteer Fire Department in memory of Benny.               Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, VA is serving the Copenhaver family.
