Bernard Walter Hill, Sr., age 89, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born February 20, 1935 in Wythe County, the son of the late James J. Hill and Clara King Blair. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Sayers Hill; a son, James Raymond Hill; grandson, Joseph Hill; two sisters, Evelyn Stuart and Mildred Blair.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Tim Gallimore of Wytheville, Judith and Dickie Arnold of Salem and Missy Hill of Wytheville; four sons & daughters-in-law, Bernard, Jr. and Vickie Hill of Foster Falls, Earnie and Reba Hill of Locust Hill, Mark and Pam Hill of Bland and Keith and Christy Hill of Wytheville; a sister, Osa Hill; three brothers and sister-in-law, Jimmy Hill, Dennis Hill and Garland and Marilin Hill, all of Ivanhoe. Thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Reese Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Showman officiating. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
