Betty Jane Melton Blair, 82, of Dublin, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family.

Born in Wythe County, Betty was the daughter of the late John Lee Melton and Ruth Ogle Melton. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her son, Frederick Blair, whom she held close in her heart always.

She is lovingly remembered by her family: her son, Mickey Blair of Concord, North Carolina; her daughter-in-law, Michelle Blair of Dawsonville, Georgia; and her treasured grandchildren, Morgan Blair, Sydney Blair, Kayla Blair, and Courtney Blair, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Her legacy continues through her great-grandson, Banks, who brightened her later years.

Betty also leaves behind her dear sister, Joanne, and brother-in-law Sandy Barbour of Salem, Virginia, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends who will remember her for her warm smile, her steady presence, and the love she so freely gave.

A private graveside service will be held at West End Cemetery, where Betty will be laid to rest next to her parents. Though her passing leaves a quiet space in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will live on in the stories shared, the traditions kept, and the love she instilled in her family.
