Beverly Dawn Sage, 66 of Rural Retreat, VA passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday August 15, 2023, at Wytheville County Community Hospital.

Beverly, passionately known as Bev, was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grams, and friend. Bev worked for Volvo Trucks NRV for 34 years before officially retiring last year. She was a graduate of Rural Retreat High School. In Bev's younger years you could find her on the weekends on the racetrack where she enjoyed racing her car. Later, you could catch her watching her NASCAR race on Sundays. Bev loved camping and enjoyed spending all her time with her family and always checking in on what her children and grandchildren were doing.

Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Dean and Edy Irvin. Bev is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kirby Sage of Rural Retreat, VA and her children Chris Sage of Rural Retreat and Dustin (Dusty) and wife Kaitlyn Sage of Speedwell. Grandchildren that she loved with all her heart and enjoyed spending every moment that she could with, Autumn, Wyatt, Damien, and Allison Sage all of Rural Retreat. Bev's grandchildren were the light of her life and her greatest joy. Bev is also survived by her brothers, Randy Irvin and Stanley Rymer, and a host of cousins, other family, and very special friends.

The family would like to express their most heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff of Wytheville County Community Hospital, for all of their loving care they gave to her. The family would also like to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, and extends a big thank you to everyone that called, visited, brought food and prayed with us and for us.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 18, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jack Rutherford officiating.

Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery. The pallbearers will be family and friends.
