Billy Clark Barker, age 87, of Wytheville, VA passed away Friday, December 16, 2022, peacefully at home with his loving wife and family. He was born in Carroll County, VA on January 8, 1935 the son of the late Guill M. Barker and Emma Vaughan Barker. Billy was preceded in death by his brothers Harold Barker, Deward Barker, Guill Barker Jr., Clarence Dean Barker, Saint Barker; and sisters Ruby Thomas, Opel Jefferson, Clarice Davis and Madeline Hodge.

Billy loved his family, loved to sing for his Lord, and was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church in Ivanhoe, Virginia. Along with being a lifelong farmer, Billy was the former owner of Bill Barker Dodge. He served on the Board of Supervisors in Carroll County Virginia, as well as serving on the Wytheville Community College Board. Billy was a caring and generous man who will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Bonnie M. Barker; daughters Vickie Chandler of McHenry, IL and Dianna Underwood of Hillsville, VA; sister, Shirley Headspeth of Sherrills Ford, NC, 4 granddaughters, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 P.M. Monday, December 19, 2022 at the Barnett Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Viars officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. prior to the service. A private committal service for the family will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at West End Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you bless those less fortunate in your communities in need of clothing, food, and shelter. This was Billy's daily prayer.
