Billy Gene Kennedy, Sr., age 48, of Scottsville, VA passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was born February 14, 1969 in Welch, WV and was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dean Kennedy.  He is survived by his wife, Zina Chapman Kennedy of Bastian, VA; mother and step-father,  Mearlie Kay Blankenship Austin and Keith Austin of Bastian, VA; son, Billy Kennedy, Jr. and Lisa Olinger of Scottsville, VA; daughter, Heather Kennedy and Keith Hedrick of Athens, WV; granddaughter, Eliza Grace Hedrick; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Bastian Union Church with Pastor Paul Looney officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
