Brandon Lee Smith, age 28, of Wytheville, VA passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born May 18, 1995 in Wytheville and was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Walters and paternal grandparents, Ronald and Lula Smith.

Brandon was a proud member of the Wytheville Masonic Lodge #82 AF and AM. He served on the Wythe County Rescue Squad for several years. Brandon was a friend to all who knew him. He had a quick wit, a warm smile and a kind heart.

Survivors include his father, David Lee and Dawn Smith of Wytheville; his mother, JJ and Billy Fortune of Rural Retreat; his furry companion, "Nova"; Maternal grandmother, Hope Walters of Wytheville; brothers, Dallas Munsey of Rural Retreat, Wesley Fortune of Speedwell and Zachary Fortune of Fort Chiswell; sisters, Kayla Fortune of Cripple Creek and Shawna King of Fort Chiswell; step-sisters, Chasity Petty of Pulaski, and Nicole Hunter of Max Meadows; step-brother, Parker Akers; aunts, Judy and Tom Reese, Jr. of Foster Falls, Jayne and Thom Leppert of Canton, GA; uncles, Jeff Smith and Sandra Lowe of Rural Retreat, Tony and Tammy Smith of Wytheville, Jim and Deby Smith of Wheeling, WV; special cousins, Jessica and Josh Justus, Amy and Lindsey Perdue, Alyssa and Jimmy Bowers, Josh and Brandi Smith, Skylar Leppert and Emily Leppert. Several cousins, extended family and many friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Tunnell, Reverend Tom Maurer and Mr. Wade Whisman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time.

Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at West End Cemetery.
