Brenda Payne Copenhaver, age 71, of Wytheville, VA went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 20, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with Dementia/Alzheimer's at home with her loving caregiver husband at her side. Born on October 21, 1951, she was the oldest child of Ben and Iris Payne, now deceased. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Ann Spraker and brother, Carlton Duwayne Payne.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Benny Copenhaver; son, Stevie Crockett and wife Amber; daughters, Suzanne Crockett, Mahala Hull and husband Chris; step-daughter, Cheryl Anderson. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexis Crockett, Catelin Crockett, Elise Burnette and husband Chance, Maleah Hull; step-grandchildren, Dylan Anderson and Nick Anderson; great-grandchildren, Lennox, Wyatt, Parker and Isla Burnette.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Charity Cemetery in Barren Springs. Officiating will be Pastor Craig Caylor from All Nations Church of God. Friends and family may visit the Copenhaver home at any time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimers Association.org
