It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brian George Prescott at the age of 59.
Brian was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joanna; his paternal grandparents, Leonard and Winonah Prescott; and his maternal grandparents, William Smith and Shirley Citron.
Brian will be remembered for his quick wit, wacky sense of humor, and willingness to help anyone in need. He had a remarkable ability to fix or repair just about anything, and if something was broken, Brian was the person to call. He also had a passion for cooking (and eating) and proudly owned and operated The Barn Restaurant in Atkins, Virginia, for several years.
Those who knew Brian knew that nothing brought him more joy than his precious cats. He was an avid New York Rangers fan and also loved football, collecting LEGO sets, building things and tackling projects of all kinds, watching history documentaries, and wearing tie-dye T-shirts.
Brian’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie; his father, John (Patsey); his siblings, Amanda, Dana (Michael), and Jon (Christine); his nieces, Reina, Iyanah, and Mikaela; his nephews, Brandon and Justen; his cherished fur babies; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him beyond measure.
The family is deeply grateful for all the love, prayers, and continued support they have received during this difficult time.
A celebration of Brian’s life may be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Brian’s memory to a local animal rescue or recovery organization.
