After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Carol M. Gentry passed from her earthly home to her eternal home from her Florida residence on Monday, May 15, 2017.

Carol shared life with her husband, Van B. Gentry for 48 years and leaves him behind to cherish their many precious memories together in Sanford, Florida and Bland, Virginia.

A host of neighbors, friends and family will also cherish their special memories of Carol.

Born September 19, 1943 in Washington D.C. to James Lewis and Cornelia Gordon Moyer, Carol was educated in Virginia Public Schools, graduated from Longwood College and obtained her Master's Degree from NSU (NOVA). Carol taught art at Lake View Middle School and Lake Mary High School, retiring after a long career in the art field. Carol was an accomplished artist in many Medias and many who knew her cherish pieces of her work.

An informal celebration of Carol's life was held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at her Sanford residence. Pastor Paul Looney will conduct her final rites at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 followed by entombment at the Gentry Mausoleum.

Mr. Gentry requests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity or to Bastian Union Church and designate it for the Haiti Mission Project in Mrs. Gentry's memory.

Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland Virginia has been entrusted to care for the Gentry family.
