Carrington "Ruffhouse" Lloyd Chandler, age 77, of Crawfish Community of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was born in Stoney Fork, Va on June 25, 1948 to the late Chalmer Chandler and Ola Mae Six Chandler.  He was preceded by his wife Mary Ellen Brunk Chandler, brothers Bill Chandler, Rick Chandler, Greg Chandler and sister Joyce Cox. He served in the military during Vietnam.

He is survived by his sons Carrington Chandler Jr. and wife Marsha, Billy Joe Chandler, Dwayne Cox; daughters Shayna Chandler and husband Urson Smith, Heather Dawn Chandler; sisters Fay Blanchett and husband Gary, Diann Lilly; grandchildren Chris Vanoy and fiancé Kate Sexton, Gavin Forbes, Ethan Smith, Carrington Chandler III, Hunter Caldwell; step grandson Jamie Pugh and wife Jodie their son Justin; great grandchildren Carson, Eli and Violet Vanoy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial visitation will be held January 29, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home.
