Heaven gained another angel on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Charles "Doug" Bailey, age 82, of Austinville, VA met his Savior and gained his heavenly wings.

Charles was born February 27, 1943 in Panther, West Virginia to Johnie Lue Bailey and Victoria Bailey. He had been a coal miner for 35 years and loved hunting and fishing.

Charles leaves behind his wonderful, loving wife of 60 years, Wilma Sue Bailey and his children, Sheryl (Randy) Crook, Charles, Jr. (Cindy) Bailey, Brian (Kristy) Bailey and Kristi (Scott) Cullop, all of Austinville; his grandchildren, Tasha Ratcliffe, Bruce "B.A." Ratcliffe, Miranda Bailey, Tanner Bailey, Dylan Bailey and Cameron Cullop; and 1 special great-granddaughter, Layana Ratcliffe; a sister, Geneva (Thomas) Justus of Fancy Gap; two brothers, Earl Bailey of Austinville and Lue (Evelyn) Bailey, Jr. of Wytheville.

Charles loved his family and was loved by everyone that knew him. He will be deeply missed, until we meet again.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Reese Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11th at Reese Funeral Home with the Reverend Hal Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Family Cemetery.
