Charles David "Sage" Mills, age 63 of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017.   He was born in Wythe Co., VA on December 31, 1953 and was preceded in death by by his mother, Ann Ryan and a brother, Mike Otey and the parents whom raised him, Bill and Irene Sage.

He is survived by his life time companion, Robin  Mash of the home; daughter, Jennifer Byrum – Wilson and husband Charlie of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Dustin Byrum, Sammi Jo Byrum, Gracie Byrum and Sadie Byrum; a brother, Jim Mills and wife Pat; a niece, Robyn Akers and husband Shane all of Rural Retreat; Robin's children, Jason Mash of Chilhowie, VA, Jessicca Hall of Rural Retreat.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 A.M. Monday, June 19, 2017 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. John Smith (Chaplain of Hospice of SW VA) officiating.   The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the Lindsey Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.   Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
