Charles Timmy "Tim" Edwards, 66 of Rural Retreat, VA passed peacefully into the arms of God on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

A devoted husband, father, son, and brother, he was loving, kind, and caring to all those that passed his way.  Tim fought courageously in his fifteen month battle against the aggressive glioblastomas that claimed his life.

Tim was a 1973 graduate of RRHS, and a graduate of Guilford Community College Technical School.  He was a proud member of the Rural Retreat Rescue Squad where he served in various capacities including captain.  A 23 year employee of Rohm and Haas, a guard at the Radford Arsenal, and an exterminator for Orkin Pest Control.  Tim was preceded in death by his father, Arnold B. Edwards, Sr. and mother June Miller Edwards.

He is survived by his wife Barbara M c Farland Edwards, sons, Ryan Montgomery and Brandon Montgomery both of Fayetteville, NC, daughter, Kimberly Kading and Alex Silva of Rural Retreat.  Additional survivors include sister, Kay and Garry Michael of Vinton, VA, brother, Arnold Edwards, Jr. of West Hollywood, CA, aunts, Opal Cassell of Rural Retreat, Joann Burchett of Wytheville, VA, Barbara "Flo" Edwards of Rural Retreat, and uncle, Claude and Janet Edwards of Dublin, VA.

Tim loved the Lord, his family, RVing, and biking.  He will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 P.M. Saturday, January 30, 2021  at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kent Lewis and Pastor Jason Cline officiating.   A graveside committal service will follow 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2021 at the Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family requests that those who prefer may make memorials to the tischbraintumorcenter.duke.edu
