Charlotte Almeda Davis, (nee Wall), 82, of Galax, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026 at home. She lived in Galax for over 20 years, having relocated back to Virginia after a lifetime in Beaufort, South Carolina.

She was born in Bland County, Virginia on Jan 29th, 1944 to the late Roy R. Wall and Almeda Virginia Wall. Charlotte grew up in and around the area to include Bland County, Fort Chiswell and Wytheville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Roy C. Davis, Jr.; her son, Frank J. Davis; her oldest brother, Leon Wall; and her sister, Naomi Carter.

Charlotte married Roy C. Davis, Jr at a young age, and together they built a life soon thereafter in Beaufort, SC, eventually raising four children. Charlotte was a devoted stay-at-home Mother who loved and cherished all of her children in her own unique way. She gave selflessly of herself each beautiful day, always striving to support and care for her children and grandchildren in her own special way.

She found great joy in gardening--nurturing flowers, trees, and vegetables, (a gift she likely inherited from her Mom and Dad, and passed it on to some of her children!). She also loved reading, and was a longtime member of the Friendship Cafe Senior Center at Rooftop of Virginia in Galax, where she faithfully attended twice weekly gatherings, and especially enjoyed playing bingo with all her senior friends.

She is survived by her children, CMSgt (Retired) Jesse J. Davis, USAF, Victoria Royal (Ezra), and George C. Davis; her brothers, Donald Wall, Duane Wall (Jane), and Ralph “Ed” Wall (Lucy); her grandchildren, Natasha Sosanya, Chad G. Davis (Ashley), Chris Walls (Cathy), Shannon Walls, Jasmine Roberts and Alton Lisle; 11 great grandchildren plus one more on the way!; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 4th, 2026 at Barnett Funeral Chapel, 325 Church Street, Wytheville, Virginia with her brother, the Reverend Duane Wall officiating. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. same day. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery on Cove Road in Wytheville. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Barnett Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

The family encourages all who knew Charlotte to cherish a favorite memory of her, perform an act of kindness in her name, and to always give yourself grace while extending grace to others.
