Connie Jean Phipps, 74, of Wytheville, VA, formerly of Newport News, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

She was born September 27, 1948 in Boissevain, VA to the late James Robert Phipps and Lina Mae Thompson Phipps. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Phipps Davidson and Rita Phipps, and a niece, Toni Barnes.

She is survived by her sister, Freda Barnes of Austinville; a niece, Terri Durham; great-nieces Ashley Barnes, Meagan Barnes, Mandi Carvatt, and Samantha Durham; great-nephews Taylor Durham, Ben Hewett, and Tyler Vance; and great-great-nephews/nieces, Ophi, Grayson, Aubrey, and Thea; her dear friend and cousin, Doris Dunigan; and her beloved Yorkie, Ginger.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery in  Austinville, VA with Chaplain Jon Smith officiating.
