Daniel "Gabe"Lewis Shinault, 71 of Max Meadows VA, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Born June 5, 1951, in Wythe County VA, he was the son of the late Wilbur Francis Shinault and Ellen Fenetta Peak Shinault.

He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed gardening and working with cows and playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed working outside and working on old cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters, Rose Hamblin, Jim Shinault, Marge Shinault, Jake Shinault, Minnie Shinault, Patricia "Che Che" Duncan, Steve Shinault and Le Jeanne "Suki" Cassell

Survivors include: his wife of 53 years Linda Shinault of the home, one son Eric Shinault and fiancé Jennifer Matherly of Burlington NC. Brothers and sisters Jack Shinault and wife Susie of Wytheville VA, Merle Shinault and wife Kaye of Columbus OH, Sally Blevins of Wytheville VA, Preston Shinault of Wytheville VA, grandchildren, Steven, Maddie, Ella, Olivia, Xander, Bentley, Hattie, and Isaac. An abundance of Nieces and Nephews. adopted daughter and husband Jessica and Robert Ratliff.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 3 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville. Friends may call Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Barnett Funeral Home.
