David Wayne Pickle, age 76, passed away May 11, 2022 at Bristol Regional Hospital. "Builder of fine homes" was the way his answering machine picked up, and he spent his life working to build the best homes in Wythe County, working with his father and brother, as John W. Pickle and Sons contracting. He was an outdoorsman, loved his farming, camping and riding horses.

David is preceded in death by his father John W. Pickle and mother Minnie Elizabeth Pickle, also his loving wife of 43 years, Ila Jean Tibbs Pickle. 3 brothers Roger L. Pickle, Charles (Bobby) R.  Pickle and Kenneth W. Pickle.

Donnie W. Pickle and wife Norma of Indiana.

Sister: Linda P. Mitchell and husband Roger of Cedar Springs, VA.

Sisters-in-law: Sue Pickle of Speedwell, VA. and Lena Pickle of Marion, VA.

Uncle: Norman Johnson and wife Rachel, of Chilhowie, VA.

Penny R. McCarty, of Chilhowie, VA. his longtime "girlfriend", companion and best friend.

A host of cherished Special-in-laws, nieces, nephews "adopted" children, grandchildren and great friends.

Funeral Service will be held Friday 7 PM, May 13, 2022 at the Lindsey Funeral Chapel with Pastor William Wagner officiating. The family will receive friends 5:30 PM to 7 PM prior to the service.  Military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post 229 of Rural Retreat will be held 11 AM on Saturday May 14, 2022 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat, VA..

The family requests that those who prefer may make memorials to the charity of one's choice.
