David Prater, age 61,of Bastian, died Saturday at the Wythe Co. Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Polly McClanahan Prater, his wife of 31 years Charlene Taylor Prater a Daughter, Lisa Gayle Brock and a brother, Mark Prater.

He is Survived by his Wife; Amanda Prater, Bastian.

3 daughters; Teresa & James Dye, Bastian

Linda Childress, Haysi, Va

Hannah Shrader, Bastian

2 Sons; J.J. Bonds, Bastian

Everett Bonds, Bastian

3 Brothers; Jarret & Ella Mae Prater, Hurley, Va

Marvin & Gail Prater, Belcher, Kentucky

Marcus Prater, Hurley, Va

2 Sisters; Ann Prater Hurley, Va

Susie & Tommy Lester, Grundy, Va

12 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 13, 2017  at 2:00 p.m. at the Bland Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Robinette Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday September 13, 2017 from 12 noon until service time.
