Debbie Diane Brewster Umberger, age 67, of Wytheville, VA passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was born January 19, 1959 in Wythe County, daughter of the late George Robert Brewster, Jr. and Bessie Kathelene “Dot” Cline Brewster. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Eugene “Bobby” Brewster.

Debbie was a past employee of Alco Controls, National Seating, Longwood Elastomers and Goodwill Industry.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Umberger and Casey Matthew Umberger, of the home; two grandsons, Samuel Wyatt Umberger and Ethan Ray Umberger; a sister, Kathy Brewster Melton and husband Jerry of Crockett, VA; a brother, John Brewster, Sr. of Wytheville; several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Joe Farmer and Reverend Tommy Addison officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1 p.m. service time.

Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Barnett Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
