Deborah Louise McMickle

Deborah L. McMickle, 70, of Ivanhoe, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2026. Born on October 6, 1955, in Wythe County, Virginia, she was the cherished daughter of the late Catherine Louise Hodge.

Deborah was a vibrant woman who brought style and warmth wherever she went. Known for being a sharp dresser, she had a passion for fashion, an eye for jewelry, and truly loved her shopping trips, especially to Goodwill. Above all else, her deepest devotion was to her family, whom she loved unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Louise Hodge; her brothers, Clinton Orren and Tom Jefferson; and her grandparents, Kemp and Ruby Burchett.

Her memory will be kept alive by her loving survivors, including her devoted husband, Virgil McMickle; her son, Jim Dunford, and his wife, Shelly; and her stepdaughter, Tammy Hawks, and her husband, Mark. She is also survived by her sister, Brenda Collins and her husband, Roger; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Deborah leaves behind several special nieces and nephews: John, Marcie, Amanda, Tony, Justin, and Montana Blair, along with many other family members and dear friends.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ivanhoe, Virginia. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Roger Collins and Chaplain Robbie Vance. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at 171 Sunrise Drive or 415 Shady River Drive Ivanhoe VA 24350.
