Della Louise Long Greer, 95, died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Graybrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Trinity.

She was born August 6, 1929, in Rural Retreat, Virginia, and was the daughter of Leonard Glenfield and Lillie Belle Gordon Long. Della was a life-long resident of Rural Retreat, Virginia , and had resided in Randolph County for the last three years due to health and family needs. She retired from Donnkenney, Inc where she worked as a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed reading, doing her crossword puzzles and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Monroe Greer, Jr.; her daughter, Patricia Ruth Greer; two sisters, Beulah L. Holston and Thelma L. Sheets; and three brothers, Harold L. Long, William Leonard "Whimp" Long, and William Guy "Bunk" Long.

Della is survived by her granddaughter, Christy Miles (Jerad) of Sophia; two great-grandsons, Kyle Cox of Trinity and Chris Cox (Brittany) of Winston-Salem; two great-great-grandchildren, Camden Cox and Addison Cox; a sister, Anna Sue Jones of Rural Retreat, Virginia; special niece and nephews, Ann Long Stroupe (Dean McCall) of Saltville, Virginia, Jeff Long of Rural Retreat, Virginia and David Long of Galax, Virginia; along with several other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service celebrating Della's life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat, Va.   Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
