Della C. Umbarger, age 93, of Ceres, VA passed away Friday, April 21, 2023. She was born November 10, 1929 in Tazewell County, daughter of the late Joseph H. Clemons and Josie Neal Clemons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Umbarger and son, James Umbarger; three sisters, Mary Smith, Louise Clemons and Lucy Kidd; five brothers, Joseph Clemons, Sam Clemons, Dillard Clemons, Johnny Clemons and Andrew Clemons.

Survivors include five daughters, Della Mae Neal of Ceres, Maryetta Umbarger of Ceres, Debbie Borne of Wytheville, Susie Ann Williamson of Galax and Judy Dunford of Wytheville; four sons, Charles and Becky Umbarger of Ceres, Leland Umbarger of Dickersonville, VA, Gregory Umbarger and Johnny Umbarger, both of Ceres.

Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Bethany United Methodist Church in Ceres with the Reverend Sammy Shupe officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Bethany UMC Cemetery. Highland Bland Funeral Chapel, Bland, VA is serving the Umbarger family.
