Dixie Lee McClanahan Deel, age 82, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024. She was born April 6, 1942 in Buchanan County, VA, daughter of the late James Arthur McClanahan and Nora Stiltner McClanahan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Deel; sisters, Lucille "Lucy" Keen, Geraldine "Gerry" Cochran and Goldie Stiltler; her brother, James "Buck" McClanahan; step-daughter, Kimberly Edenfield.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Jess Justus of Max Meadows; step-daughter, Amber Deel Price of Richlands, VA; son-in-law, Darrel Edenfield of Kite, GA; sister, Leona "Tiny" Thomas of Haysi, VA; grandchildren, Jackson, Jillian, Jayden, Julianna and Jace; a great-grandchild, Ezra. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Mt. Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum, 32350 Riverside Drive, Big Rock, VA.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the cemetery.
