Donald Patrick Pruett, age 91, of Rocky Gap VA passed away Tuesday January 21, 2025 at home.

Born in Bland County, Va on August 16, 1933, he was the son of the late John Pruett and Mabel Akers Pruett. He was also preceded in death by his wife Della G "Baldwin" Pruett; siblings John, Billy, Harold, Madeline, Richard, Russell, Mike, and Harvey.  He was in the US Navy Veteran, having served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.  Donald returned from overseas and spent some time in Oregon with his older brother Johnny developing a tree service business. He decided to go back to Rocky Gap, VA and work the farm that has been in his family for many generations.

In July of 1972 he married a lady who would become his best friend forever. They never had children but were parents just the same to a few fortunate nephews and nieces. Donald and Della had the type of love that we hunger for. They were always together, until recently, both declining physically but managed to seemingly reunite spiritually and depart life within a few hours of each other.

Those left to cherish Donald and Della memory, the nephew that lived with them and took care of them Ricky Pruett; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends and extended family.

Funeral Services will be conducted, Friday, January 24, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Reverend Rodney Lawson officiating; The family will receive friends, Friday, January 24, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.at the Bland Funeral Chapel in Bland VA. Burial will be private.
