"Donna" Donnie Jean (Bailey) Peavler, 81, of Rural Retreat passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Wythe County Hospital.

Born July 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Harloe Bailey and Olivia (Huff) Bailey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harloe Bailey Jr. and her loving son Charles Marshall "C.M." Peavler Jr.

She is survived by her grandchildren; Charles "Robert" Peavler and Lara Ann Peavler, daughter-in-law; Rhea Peavler, two sisters; Jane Musser and Tammy Reardon and husband Mike Reardon. Her niece; Ashley (Reardon) Bond and husband Fred Bond, nephew; Nathaniel Reardon, and great nephew; Conner Bond.

Donna was a lifelong resident of Rural Retreat where she liked to stay close to family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning, and was always willing to entertain – sharing her homemade treats. Nobody ever left "Dot-Dot's" without a goody bag!

As per her wishes, Donna requested to be cremated with a graveside service only.

Inurnment will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 4:00 pm at the Mountain View Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Hamman and Vicar Felicia Swartz Officiating.
