Dorothy Fay Farris Aker, age 87, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026. She was born February 19, 1939 in Carroll County, daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Viars Farris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Manuel, Sr. and her second husband, Roy Aker; three sisters, Bat Surratt, Polly Nelson and Shirley Mabe; four brothers, Elmo Farris, Mason Farris, Burton Farris and Jimmy Farris.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Joey Earles of Hillsville, VA; her son, Frank Manuel, Jr. of the home; three grandchildren, Tyler Rochelle, Larissa King and Reanna Manuel; two great-grandchildren, Porter Rochelle and Josie King; her sister, Della Crockett of Kernersville, NC and her brother, Bobby Farris of Max Meadows. Many extended close family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2026 at Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Mike Ingo officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
