Edith Gillespie Baumgardner, age 66, of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was born June 25, 1955 in Wythe County, daughter of the late Billy and Peggy Dunford Gillespie. She was preceded in death by her husband, James David Baumgardner.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John Thomas and Courtney Baumgardner of Fort Chiswell; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Royal Connell of Aurora, CO; brother, Kenneth Gillespie of Ivanhoe. Eight grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
