Edward Lee Gravely

Edward Lee Gravely, 95, of Max Meadows Va passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. He was born in Wythe County, VA on June 28, 1931 to the late James Anderson Gravely and Mary Elizabeth Jones Gravely. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Katherine Gravely, his son Edward Nathan Gravely, his three grandsons Christopher Sparks, Bill Eversole, and Little Lee Gravely, four sisters and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Lambert Gravely of the home; sons, Nelson Gravely of Max Meadows, Va and Rusty Kidd of Burtonville, VA; daughters, Susie Linkous of Max Meadows, Va., Deborah Frye of Max Meadows, Va., Laurie and Tim Monahan of Ivanhoe, Va., Dana and Burton Leonard of Austinville, Va., Chastity Johnson of Max Meadows, Va.; mother-in-law Peggy Thompson; twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home with Reverend Geary Jonas and Reverend Derek Cowan officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5, 2026 12:00 noon until service time at Barnett Funeral Home.
