Effie Mae Hardy Banes, age 81, of Wytheville, VA passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017.

She was born December 19, 1935 in Wythe County, and was preceded in death by her mother, Lena Hardy; her husband, Ellis Wilbert Banes; two sons, Jessie James Banes and Marvin DeWayne Banes; two brothers and her step-father, Mull Peak.

She is survived by two sons, Nelson L. and Penny Banes, Larry A. Banes; her daughter, Connie Mae Stone, all of Wytheville, VA; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Guy Arnold.

Graveside memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Rosenbaum Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with the Reverend Brandon Hughes officiating.
