Elizabeth Greever DeLauney Lyons, age 74, of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Monday, May 8, 2017.  She was born in Roanoke, VA on January 13, 1943 the daughter of the late Elbert Crockett DeLauney and Anna Katherine Greever DeLauney.  Elizabeth was a member of the Sunny Hills Community Church in Wytheville, VA and was preceded in death by a nephew, Johnny Herbert.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles E. "Buddy" Lyons; children, Kathy Whalen & husband Mike of Speedwell, VA, Chuck Lyons and wife Tammy of Palmyra, VA; grandchildren, Kate Dewall and husband Dan, Jake Whalen and Paige Burnett and her son Declan, Caleb Whalen and wife Morgan, Trey Lyons, Jay Lyons; sister, Jane Herbert and Vic Mendoza of Plymouth Township, PA; several special family, friends and neighbors also survive.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Sunny Hills Community Church with Pastor Alan Wilder officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until service time.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sunny Hills Community Church, 2973 North Fourth Street, Wytheville, VA, 24382.
