Elizabeth "Betty" Sue Reynolds Taylor, age 86, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Betty was born January 12, 1939 in Wythe County, VA, the daughter of the late Howard Brooks Reynolds and Nellie May Kirby Reynolds. She was a member of the St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles "CR" Robinson Taylor; her brothers, Junior, Bobby and Jimmy Reynolds; a son-in-law, James P. Lyons, Jr; two great-grandchildren.
Betty had an unwavering love for the Lord, her husband, children and grandchildren; from sitting on the porch to red velvet cakes and sweet tea to endless smiles and laughter. She was one of a kind.
Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Randell "Elmo" Aker of Max Meadows, VA and Michele and Greg Campbell of Austinville, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Charles and Laura Taylor of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Sarah "Beth" and Michael McGee, Robert and Tiffani Lyons, Hannah and J-rod Blevins, Jared and Amanda Hovencamp, Jade and Evan McManus, Jacob Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Chloe Taylor, Brad Rottenborn and Kate Rottenborn; great-grandchildren, Emma and Elliott McGee, Noah and Aubrey Lyons, Reagan Blevins, Ella and Deacon Hovencamp, Gabe and Levi McManus. Several sisters-in-law, special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2025 at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Reverend Tony Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow the service at St. Paul PHC Cemetery.
