Estle Edward "Eddie" Atwell, Jr., age 70 of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at his home.  He was born In Marion, VA on August 14, 1953 the son of the late Estle Edward Atwell, Sr. and Catherine Minnie Cox Atwell. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and was preceded in death by wife Deborah Kathy Atwell and a sister Kay Bogle.

He is survived by his children:

David Adam Atwell and wife Amy and son Wyatt   of Manassas, VA

Annie Atwell and children Emily and Kobe Gottschamer of Rural Retreat, VA

Kelly Atwell of Rural Retreat, VA and children Ethan and Ayden Sheffey

Significant other:

Denise Smith and her family          of Rocky Gap, VA

Brothers:

Dewey Atwell (Pat)                of Llano, TX

Mike Atwell (Mary)                of Rural Retreat, VA

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jason Darty officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rural Retreat Depot Foundation, PO Box 843 Rural Retreat, VA  24368.
