Eunice Thursie Mitchell, 88, of Wytheville, Virginia, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

Born March 12, 1937, in Ceres, Virginia, Eunice was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Lambert and Delightful Victoria Lambert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Mitchell; her daughter, Karen Parker; three sisters, Verdie Townley, Merle Lester, and Trina Ramsey; and two brothers, Clifford Lambert and Clayton Lambert. Throughout her life, Eunice worked as a housekeeper and was known for her selflessness and deep love for her family. She found joy in gardening and quilting, filling her days with blooming flowers and lovingly stitched keepsakes that will be cherished for generations. Eunice especially adored time spent with family and her great-grandchildren, surrounding them with warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.

She is survived by her two sons, Keith Mitchell and his wife Teresa, and Kenneth Mitchell; one sister, Fern Shrader; two brothers, Joe Lambert and his wife Darlene, and Buster Lambert; her grandchildren, Misty Parker, Paige Foster and her husband Travis, Cory Mitchell, Tony Mitchell, Traci Mitchell, Zach Mitchell and his wife Joanna, Drew Mitchell and his wife Chelsea; and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Luke, Lawson, Emily, Tom, Parker, Ariel, and Bailey. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, VA. A Celebration of Life service, with Pastor Travis Foster officiating, will follow at 1:00 p.m. with graveside services immediately following at West End Cemetery.
