Eva Marie Houchins, 90, of Max Meadows VA, passed away, Friday, January 19, 2024. Born November 19, 1933, in Richlands VA, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Virgie Blankenship Ray
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved flowers, the beach, and being with people. Her biscuits and gravy were the best because of the love she put into it. She was happiest around people and celebrations. We celebrate her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Peery Raymond Houchins, four brothers, Cecil, Chester, Rufus, and Bill Ray, sisters, Jean Jackson, Bonnie Hill, Janice Richardson, Edith Hess, one son Michael Houchins, daughter Debbie Harvey.
Survivors include, her daughters, Judy Russell, Jeanie Darrow and husband Tim, Elaine Flanary and husband Mitch, Georgia Shepherd, sons Danny Houchins and wife Brenda, Larry Houchins, and wife Donna, son in law Gary Harvey. Fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 1 P.M., at Legacy Church in Wytheville with Pastor Rick Becker officiating, burial will follow at the Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Legacy Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Legacy Church.
