Evelyn Nichols Stephenson age 83 of Rural Retreat, VA passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.  She was born in Wythe Co, VA on June 28, 1938 the daughter of the later Ira Nichols and Artie Wright Nichols.  Evelyn was a lover of animals, light houses and an avid bird watcher.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Stephenson; sister, Helen Nichols; brothers, Edgar Nichols and Lloyd Nichols.

She is survived by a daughter, Karen Snider and husband Jerry of Wytheville, VA; nephews, Charles Nichols, Eddie Nichols, Ronnie Nichols, Kenny Nichols, Roger Nichols and her best friend, Gail Thomas.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 26, 2022 at the Fairview UMC Cemetery in Rural Retreat with Rev. Travis Price officiating.  There will be no visitation.
