Frances Trail Ratcliffe, age 89, of Max Meadows, VA, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was born July 30, 1929, daughter of the late Coy Alford and Flora Alice Trail. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Steven Ratcliffe, her son, Donald Cecil Ratcliffe and her brother, Artie Marvin Trail. Frances was retired from RAAP where she was employed for many years. She grew up on the family farm in Delton, but later moved with her husband to Max Meadows where they both lived out their lives. She was a loving mother to her children and loved her family. She loved her flowers and gardening.

Survivors include her son, Henry A. and Erna Ratcliffe of Draper; two daughters, Wanda R. and Jim Collins of Max Meadows and Hazel R. Fitzgerald of Pulaski, VA; daughter-in-law, Susie Ratcliffe of Pulaski; sister, Peggy G. Trail of Draper; nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the Barnett Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Shupe, Reverend Rick Lindamood and Robbie officiating. Interment will follow in Draper Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
