Frances May Yates

Frances May Cahoon Yates, age 79, of Bland, VA passed away Sunday, October 11, 2026. She was born September 5, 1947 in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late Alton Bernard Cahoon and Evelyn Friend Cahoon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, Dennise and Lydia Cahoon.

Frances is survived by her husband, Brian Yates, Sr of the home; four daughters, Paula Lejeune, Denise Lejeune, Christina Keane and Evonne Creamer; a sister-in-law, Theresa Crowley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and many extended family members and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at the Bland Funeral Chapel with Bishop Sam Chutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow the service at Morning Star Cemetery in Bland, VA.
