Fred Lucas Patton, age 32, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was born in Smyth County, VA., on April 5, 1993. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Saunders Patton Sr. Lucas achieved his lifelong goal of attaining a CDL License and driving a tractor trailer. He passed away doing what he loved while on a logged break during a long-haul trip. Lucas was a Certified Diesel Engine Mechanic, a gifted artist and, he had a way with children and a animals that made others smile.

He is survived by his mother Joy Roupe Patton of Laurel Springs, NC.; brother Harry Saunders Patton Jr. "Sonny" and wife Leslie, their children Lilly and Harrison of Christiansburg, VA.; maternal grandmother Betty Fender Roupe of Sparta, NC.; several aunts, uncles, cousins; special friends Zach Poston, Mary Parrish, and Ava Parrish.

Funeral services will be held at Sharon Baptist Church in Rural Retreat on Tuesday December 16, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jack Rutherford officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations may be made to the Lindsey Funeral Home to help offset the funeral expenses.
