Freda Mae Adkins Dunford, age 84, of Max Meadows, VA passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024. She was born April 9, 1940 in Wayne County, WV, daughter of the late Jennings Adkins and Lulie Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eldridge Dunford; a son, Morris Dunford; a daughter-in-law, Kathy and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her son, Junior and Carolyn Dunford of Piney; her daughter, Linda and Paul Eaves of Piney; seven grandchildren, Paul Eaves of Piney, Wayne and Mandy Dunford of Piney, David and Freda Gravley of Fort Chiswell, Johnathan and Okeya Blevins of Piney, Brandon Dunford of Piney, Andrew and Missy Eaves of Galax and Gracie Eaves of Piney; fourteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dreama and Mark Adkins of Salt Rock, WV, Ellie Lester of Bowen Ridge, WV, Shirley Ferguson-Vazquez of Bowen Ridge, WV and Linda Adkins of Huntington, WV; three brothers, Arthur and Jose Adkins of Branchland, WV, Eugene and Goldie Adkins of Salt Rock, WV, Johnny and Marg Adkins of Four Mile, WV; special friends, Molly Bartosh of Fort Chiswell and Elizabeth Gravley of Hillsville; her two fur-babies, "Shagg" and "Baby". Several nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Porters Bottom New Life Holiness Church with the Reverend Stephen Layne Board officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
